Dobbins Government Relations was founded in 2007 as a full-service lobbying, grassroots training and consulting firm assisting clients with legislative and regulatory concerns of state government.  It is important that your interests be represented.  We plan, research, execute and deliver desired results. Individual attention, surpassing client expectations, and old-fashioned hard work are all trademarks of Dobbins Government Relations.

Lobbying

You need someone with experience and judgment to help accomplish your goals. We have earned the trust of decision makers at all levels of government. We work with you to develop testimony before legislative committees and schedule meetings with key decision makers. Whether you need legislation passed, defeated or monitored, or want to proactively influence policy makers in public policy design, we are the firm you can trust to get the job done. There is no substitute for experience and trust in the government relations arena.

If is often necessary to monitor and change legislation to protect your interests.  Even though the Tennessee General Assembly is only in session 45 days per year, Dobbins Government Relations’ commitment to researching issues and to develop an effective political strategy continues throughout the year.  Issues are often won or lost before the legislature convenes.  Preparation is a key element for prevailing.

 Grassroots Training

The most important legislator is not necessarily the speaker or a committee chairman.  The most important legislator is yours.  That is the message we deliver to our clients’ members.  We will help you organize your members by legislative district and provide them with the necessary training to be effective when communicating your message to their legislators.

Coalition Building

It is very rare for legislation to pass on its own merits.  Almost all legislation that is passes is the result of a group effort. Coalitions offer a team approach to achieving a common goal. There is strength in numbers.  It’s important to know what group or organization might be affected both positively and negatively by legislative and regulatory initiatives. By knowing the various players, we can work to develop and coordinate coalitions both for and against legislation.
